My advice to any new teacher:

It is a MISTAKE to be nice. Really. I was totally against that philosophy, at first. I felt like, if I went in there and let them know I care about them and that I won't give up on them- all that bullshit- that they would rise up from their position and suddenly be begging to learn. I was wrong. They are walking all over me. They frustrate me to no end. I am sick of them.

Well, not all of them. But a lot of them. Tomorrow I am going in there and giving some detentions. No warning. They have been warned all week. It is the time for the smackdown. Heaven help them. There is going to be some learning in my classroom tomorrow, boyyee. ¶ 2:37 PM
